From what I have seen, Washington has so many in-state hunters to deal with that they have to do whatever they can to make the state "huntable".  What I mean is that they purposefully make Washington less desireable to hunt, because they are hoping that more of us will just go hunt another state.  Also, they would rather the out-of-staters hunt other western states.  With that thought in mind, so take another look at the Hunting regs.  Like I keep saying, "other western states manage their game.  Washington manages their hunters".

If it were up to me I would say make our state Draw Only. But I am after big animals.

I think that is actually where we are headed to.  Seems to work for Oregon.  Might not be a bad idea.  Looks like most Oregonians get to hunt about every other year.  I know I wouldn't mind seeing only half the hunters out there when I am trying to harvest.

pathfinder...means you are not far enough off the road....I say that only partly tongue in cheek.

Mostly where i go its kind of quiet...CAMP is off a FS road...but the hunt is over hill and dale from there....few folks and more critters...EXCEPT for the elusive spike elk (dang E WA tags)
A Smith & Wesson Beats Four Aces.

Whatta ya mean I can't have one of each?

What we have here is...Washington Department of NO Fish and WATCHABLE Wildlife.

WDFW is going farther and farther backwards....we need FISH AND GAME back!

No argument here.  Unfortunately, down here in the SE corner with all the wheat and CRP, you are never very far from a road.  I am actually looking for some new areas, but looks like I am going to have to drive to another portion of the state to find roadless spots.  I tried the Wenaha a few years ago, and you are right, never saw another hunter in 4 days....Unfortunately, didn't see any deer either.  Lot's of elk, no deer.
Looking at the NE corner (Salmo-Priest).  Problem is, I am active duty military and won't get much chance to scout it as much as I should.

And if you don't get drawn, do you not hunt or are you able to spend the time and money to go to another state?
I'd just like to remind everybody that it's about the hunting, not just the killing. In other words, it's about the total experience, the sport itself and the challenge involved. Bowhunting, done right, is a justifiable and honorable pursuit. Done for the wrong reasons, simply chalking up kills and seeking personal glory, it's taking away rather than giving back to a principled way of life that has to be experienced to be understood.
