Fast Turn Around on Benelli Repair
« on: December 16, 2015, 09:10:57 PM »
My LH SBEII was sent back by Cabelas(purchased from them), repaired and returned in under 3 wks. Picked it up tonight. Anxious to make it go bang.

What went out?  Ejector plate or recoil tube?
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

It was ejecting both magazine shells upon firing causing a jam. Didn't matter the ammo either.

Sometimes easier to fix on own.  They will send you the parts and your not out $48 to ship it due to required insurance.

Mine was brand new so I just took it back to Cabelas and let them handle it. They deserve a pat on the  back also for their part in this quick repair/turn around.

OK, I'll ask the question.  For that amount of money, shouldn't it hold up longer that two boxes?

I don't think they are made for the inconsistent pressure they exert.  When I told him what I was shooting, he said that explains it.  Remington had to make some improvements and re-designs on there Versa Max to handle them as well.  The ammo was making parts guns out many autos.  Along with about 40% more felt recoil if your shooting stuff in the 1,450fps field.

I am done shooting them.  Better patterns with the current ammo I shoot and I don't have lead and follow through issues like some.  That is why many use it as it can shorten your lead by 8" at 40 yards.  For the wear and tear on your gun and body, not worth it.  Probably easier on you through a gas gun if you do choose to shoot them.

Ah, seems like an awfully expensive way to get another 150 fps over a $14 box of Fasteel.

Made the ol SBEII go bang a few times yesterday. No problems. Glad she's back.
