Stupid policy; it puts the greeters in a bad situation.  They should either go with no open carry or mind their own business and welcome the new law.

What bothers me more than anything is that the State of TX requires a permit for open carry. Really?

I think they're misinterpreting the term "knowingly" selling to an unlicensed person. If someone is carrying, unless that person states whether or not they have the permit, Walmart has no idea whether that person is breaking the law and is therefore, not liable under the liquor law. They might as well require a breathalyzer test before selling the customer booze because the law also states that they can't sell booze to someone who they know to be intoxicated. They don't need to play the nanny here but they've decided to. Since I would carry concealed and do, this isn't an issue for me. Were I an open carry guy, it'd torque me off for someone to request "my papers". Sounds a little Nazi-ish to me.

 :yeah:

I do open carry on occasion.
You should be able to carry any manner you wish any where the American Flag fly's.
