.204 strikes again!!
« on: January 24, 2009, 02:44:34 PM »
The new VTR is treating me well. Switched to the 40 grain. Nothing got away this time with a bullet in him. Another good size one too, 34 lbs. He was 402 yards, gave him 12" and few to the right for wind. So far I'm pretty impressed with the new set up.

Awsome slinger, the 40gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip is my favorite in my AR.

Well done Slinger, you're sure smacking some dogs this year! What's the total so far? If you don't mind me asking, how much was that set up? Looks like fun!

12 kills that I have actually found. Cripled a few more and knocked down and lost a few.

The set up was purchased at cabelas. Gun was on sale for $679.00, rings $70, scope on sale for $329.00. After tax I was almost $1200. Very pleased!!!

Looks like a great day.  That one on the right looks like he's been spending some time at the gym..

Good shootin!   It is hard to beat the .204 with the 40 grain V-max.   I knocked a few down this weekend with the same combo - great minds think alike :)

I'm always happy to role a yoter or two. But its other missed opportunities that make me scower. I have a new nemesis I cant conquer. :hunt2:

Remember that is Ducks 300, that means if he is shooting 300 yards is really 75 yards. If someone else is shooting, 300 yards is really 450 yards. :chuckle:
