are bulls dropping early this year or just the big boys start this early

Haven't seen anything but mature bulls dropping so far. It is early, but not overly surprising.

I'm not certain there's no competition, just saying we don't usually run into people. Also, we're not out there every weekend, so between work and family obligations, the days when I can spend time in the woods with my kids/friends/family I like to take advantage of it.

Well, there's definitely a ton of competition. 5-10 trucks parked at all the same spots. Just a lot more land to cover than horn hunters are able, and we usually do a good job at going in further than most. Don't always do this well, most of the time it's just a great hike, but God's favor was on us this year....regardless of the competition
