New Northwest Options
« on: January 07, 2016, 12:07:13 PM »
I just wanted to take the time to update everyone on the new 2016 Northwest muzzleloading options that have been rolled out thus far.

First, Traditions has greatly stepped up their Northwest selection with some great new offerings. In the Vortek line, the only new Northwest is a Vortek Strikerfire with Nitride. Also, Traditions has now released two Pursuit Northwest models, in both CeraKote and Nitride options. Finally, they have added a Buckstalker Northwest, with CeraKote. Overall, we are very pleased to see Traditions take such an interest in the Northwest.

There will not be anything new from CVA this year in the Northwest, however the new breech plug design that was released in October seems to be working very well.

While Thompson Center released the Strike in the fall (formerly the LHR Redemption), this will not be Northwest legal. We are still hoping for TC to build Northwest components for their current guns, but nothing is planned in the near future.

We have not talked to Knight about anything new yet, but we will see them at SHOT and will post an update at that point.

As always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions about any of the muzzleloaders we offer!

Thanks
Brad

Thanks for the update. I have a CVA Optima that is about two years old. You mentioned a new breech plug design released just this last October- is that something that would fit my gun and enhance reliability or performance?

Hey Bobcat,

The new design features a removable nipple, which is hardened steel. This has seemed to fix the misfire issues. Give us a call and I can definitely talk to you more about it 855-236-5000.

I just ordered a replacement breach plug from your site, for my 2014 CVA Accura V2 NW legal MZ.

THEN I read this post.  Is the one I just ordered the improved design with replaceable nipple?

Hey Robbob,

The order that you have placed will indeed be for the breech plug with the removable nipple. We have plenty of them in stock, and have more on the way to stay ahead of demand in case CVA runs out.

Hey FirstFlight,

I just got off the phone with Traditions, and they are sending us a shipment later this week, with delivery of late next week. We have quite a few Northwest Buckstalkers on this shipment, so if you place an order on the website now, the backorders will be fulfilled next week. The Northwest Pursuits are still about 4 weeks out as of this update.

Would really be hesitant to recommend nw traditions strikefire until I heard they have solved ignition issues.  Highly unreliable most seem to say and Ive verified that.

This was our update on the new Northwest guns at the SHOT show. Is there anything in particular that you wanted info on, as we were there all week and can provide any info that you may need.

Did you hear from Knight, and do you know when you will get any Knight Disc Extremes?

Thank you for reaching out about the Knight's. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA on Knight Rifles at this time. I cannot go into further details until everything is worked out, and I will be sure to update the forum at that time.
