This wont end. Has 594 even been successfully challenged in court?
Think SAF.org is challenging.

An appeal has been filed w/ the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

One problem with the lawsuit, the plaintiffs likely have no standing because no one has been directly arrested by the 594 law. Plaintiff must have standing to have complaint move forward. I don't agree at all with 594, it should be dissolved as unconstitutional and violation of due process.

Well, if recent comments by the King County Sheriff and Jaybama Inslee, in response to the story on KING5 regarding a lack of enforcement are any indication, we may get that opportunity.

I recently moved back to Wa from OR. I am confused about this bill and what it actually does. I have had friends too afraid to shoot my guns at a range because they feared it would violate the transfer parts of this law, but with further research there is clearly exceptions to the transfer section, one of which is legal recreational shooting.  Anyone that can help clarify what this initiative actually did would be much appreciated.

There is still hope. I moved from Whitman & Spokane County to King County. Granted, I dont trust politicians, but this type of comment for a king County Rep is a good thing.
This is the 3rd reply about no support from my reps.

Nice to see
"When my bow falls, so shall the world. When me heart ceases to pump blood to my body, it will all come crashing down. As a hunter, we are bound by duty, nay, bound by our very soul to this world. When a hunter dies we feel it, we sense it, and the world trembles with sorrow. When I die, so shall the world, from the shock of loosing such a great part of ones soul." Ezekiel, Okeanos Hunter

Non-committal response:

Thank you for emailing me regarding House Bill 2354, prohibiting the manufacture, possession, purchase, sale, or transfer of assault weapons and large capacity magazines.

I understand your concerns with this issue and the affect this legislation would have on gun ownership in Washington State. At this time, this bill is in the House Judiciary Committee. If given the opportunity to vote on House Bill 2354 during the 2016 Legislative Session, I will have your support on this matter in mind.
Thank you for the input and please don't hesitate to contact me anytime.
All the best,

Steve Litzow

Call his office and nail him down. He's your representative. You have a right to know his stance. Let us know how it turns out.
