Not worth trying to get a marten this year.  They are tricky beasts  :yike:

Check out Jakelands thread...

I wasn't trying to be discouraging   :hello: I've caught them myself, it can be very hard finding a productive spot. I just meant with season winding down and marten trapping being an easy way to burn a lot of gas, he should plan it for next year

Good work bear hunter, trapping gets more and more fun for the first 4-5 years IMO because you know so much more each year (and you have more traps)
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I can see how that's possible! I learn new things every time I'm out there
Already looking forward to next year..

Wow you made $200?  You did have a good year!!  I'm probably in the hole for over $2000 and I didn't sell a single piece of fur!!  :chuckle:

:yike: Today was a good day had these 2 monsters in the taps and a little muskrat to. One in the swim thru and the other beaver was caught in the Bailey trap. Going to pull all my cat traps and just leave the swim thru sets. I could set otter traps at the river but thats alot of driving and running the big boat. But thats a lot of driving two differant directions. There is always next season.

Only had time to check the cat traps today. Trapped another spotted skunk today. Going to have funny skinning him.  :bash: but at least I caught samething. Wish I had time to check and set one more swim thru and bailey trap back in the pond. Lots to do flesh the two beavers and skin skunk then salt them. Busy busy busy
