7mm08 recipes?
«
on:
January 22, 2016, 07:53:33 PM »
Picked up a tikka t3 lite in 7mm08 for christmas and topped it with a vx3 4.5to 14. I have some factory 140 winchester ammo im using for break in. And some 139 sst's i was going to try but was curious if anyone wanted to share what works great for them. I know all guns are different but might narrow my choices some. Ill add a pic of the first three down the barrel with cleaning and cool down in between.

I don't know about the recipes for the load but I'd definitely be trying some 140 grain partitions. I was advised to try them in my .280 and they shot great.

I have about 600 pcs of 140 gr. patitions waiting to be loaded. I also have about 400 pcs of 140 grain accubonds....but I like the partions better.
I load partitions in almost all my rifles.

We have 3 7mm-08 guns. I run 140 grain accubonds or 140 combined tech bullets over H380. Both have killed a lot of critters for all of us.

My son uses that load for deer and antelope. He used 140 grain TTSX bullets in Africa with excellent results. With the moderate velocities of the 7mm-08 it's pretty accommodating and does well with many different bullets.

Not much to improve there, especially for a factory rifle and ammo.

My kids rounds, that are grouping consistently well, out of their Ruger M77 compacts is a 140gr. partition loaded with 37.6gr. of H4895, CCI 200 primer, seated accordingly with each rifle......ymmv

You will love that setup!
Great accurate rifle and awesome cartridge!
I just loaded up 34 rounds of 160 gr. Speer spitzer sp and 34 rounds of Speef 145 gr. Spitzer boattails. My wife's weathegby shoots these and the 120 gr. Sierra Spitzers really well. I use RL19 on the 160 grain and H4350 on the 145's.

Your good to go on most the Info posted ..Only difference for me is I run with 140 gr Hornaday Interlock .. I have used hornady my whole life so its hard to change now ..Accu Bonds would be my second choice ..140 seems to be the best thing going for .270 and 7mm-08 ...Imr 4350 or 4831 is what I prefer .
