Umtanum Ram hunt on TV
« on: January 13, 2016, 12:04:30 AM »
I just watched "Petersen's Hunting Adventures" on the Sportsman's Channel and they showcased an Umtanum Ram hunt. It was pretty cool! The hunter apparently is a resident and drew the tag and is a friend of the host. Maybe this was mentioned on here previously, I hadn't noticed but definitely worth a watch if you can find it. There was a lot of familiar country in the show for sure.
Fish hard, hunt harder!

Friends of Mike Schoby?  I know a bunch of his friends, he's from washington.  Going to Dvr the show.   Now only if I can draw that tag or win the powerball  :)

I wonder if good ol Mike Schoby is a Hunt Wa member? He could be and just a nonparticipating one like a lot.

Just saw this hunt, but didn't see the beginning to find out where.  I did recognize the WA tag though.

selah butte is the east side of the yakima river canyon. Umtanum is the west side.

Also noticed he said one of the tags was archery and 2 rifle which is patently false, not sure which side of the canyon they were on, but I was leaning toward umptanum

Pretty sure he was in selah butte.  My friend worked for him at Petersens and sent him a picture of my uncles ram and he claimed they passed that one up a week before we killed it.
