bear range
« on: February 23, 2016, 09:27:32 PM »
How big of a range can a mature boar have?  Got a bear on cam back in june 2013, and havent seen him since.  Today i checked a cam that i put up 1.5 miles from there about 9 months ago and there he was, may 2015.  Curious how far he might travel.  Im thinking the odds of actually laying eyes on him during season are slim to none, but now im really hoping i draw my 1st choice spring bear tag, knowing this guy is still out there.

May, June are during bear rut so he is probably covering some country compared to berry season  August September

2.5-12 square miles for a female black bear, and 10-60 miles for a male black bear.
