Quads trap line
« on: January 18, 2016, 09:26:53 PM »
Got my trap line set tonight. Been a while since I've run the line under my outdoor built in grill. Set nine traps tonight with a little peanut butter as bait. I'll get a pic in the morning and see how we did. I've caught over 100 here in the last 2 years but it's been a few months since the last set.
Wish me luck

Good luck man.  What do you use for a fleshing beam - a tongue depressor? :chuckle:

Well, can't believe  not one hit last night.
Little buggers are wary that's for sure. I'll keep at it and wear them down  :)

Well Turner I think you are right. Another zero last night. Better pull em for awhile. I figured by the amount of sign i would have had a few by now. They must have been migrators

Scent control is key in these situations!!  Rubber boots, a knee pad and gloves.  :)

Your probably leaving to much scent. What you need to do is get a pack of meat outta the freezer. Get that thawed out and throw a little marinade on there. Get the grill fired up, grab a barley pop and maybe some snacks. Get that meat going and don't worry about those snakes that make it onto the ground....that is not considered baiting as it is naturally occurring. Little marinade drips down, same thing, no worry, that is cover scent. Fresh is key here...if you grill, they will come. Keep us posted.

 :yeah: most likely.
The only thing you can most defiantly count on, is that they will make it back there at some point :chuckle:  you know your in a great area when you here the iron jaws of your trap "snap" before you get back in the house :chuckle:
