Easiest way for me to shoot groups is use the smallest point of aim you can. Looking good sofar.  Just over 1/2 CTC isn't nothing to complain about either

I definitely have to think more about my targets next time around. This is a learning experience for me for sure and I appreciate all the input.

1/2 MOA is plenty good enough for big game hunting at reasonable distances (400 to 500 yards, maybe further.) I think the 100 grain Sierra is fine for antelope; for deer and elk I'd probably be looking for something a bit stouter. :twocents:

Once you decide on a load, then you need to do some actual shooting at longer distances to see how the balistics really perform compared to software estimates.

Sounds like you're on a fun journey.

Bob- the 100 grain sierras are all gone. I won't be loading any more of them. I have an assortment of quality bullets to try out. Accubonds, Bergers, Barnes TSX. We'll see what shoots the best and go with that one. Thanks !!

I agree Jason.  I typically shoot at a 3/" or 1" black dot.  Just stick one on a plain piece of paper and tighten up!

i like 3/4" or 1" as well but I use orange or pink so I can see if I'm centered on the dot.  My eyes aren't great so black cross hairs on black dot wouldn't turn out as well
