wall tent frames
« on: January 19, 2016, 05:31:17 PM »
So I have been searching for Internal frames for our old 12x14 tent..
Are all 12x14 the same pitch and size?  I am not seeing any options for choices but find it hard to believe they are all the same pitch from side to ridge.
All help is appreciated
If its brown knock it down

Ross, they make a corner kit that is adjustable and should work with any pitch tent roof  :twocents:

I would buy angle kit, then just piece together the EMT in the sizes you need.  Bst bet is to set up an existing frame and see if your tent fits? If so simply copy the measurements from that frame.

Do what rtspring says and buy the angles. You can get adjustable angles. And then just go to Home Depot or Lowes and get EMT conduit from the electrical section. You'll save a ton of money doing it this way.

We built our own frame.  It has an internal ridge pole and external side supports.  It has worked well for the last 20 years and was pretty cheap to make.  As far as pitch it depends on width and side wall height.  They make adjustable angle pieces.  But a 12ft wide tent with 5ft sides is gonna have the same angle as most other tents.  Thats a pretty common format.

To answer your question they are not all the same....like was already said you can buy the adjustable Montana Canvas fittings or go on Kwik Kamp website and they have a worksheet on how to measure your tent to determine angle degrees...Steve

Don't go to home depot or Lowe's for your EMT. I can get you plenty when you come down in February for next to nothing.
