When I first moved up here in 2014 I had an apartment in DuPont... One night driving home from work I was just looking around when I seen this silhouette... I had to do a double take. This deer was standing in the middle of one of the side streets. Pretty cool that he's still around

My friend has 5 acres right off of the Mounts road exit and he is always telling me about large bucks by his house.  All private land though and he feels its cheating shooting backyard bucks.

I used to do deliveries at Ft Lewis, during summer months I would see some nice deer right beside the off ramp at the main gate, and a few would be bedded by the back of tre commissary. Real nice bucks, right beside the damn freeway!!

:yeah: Seen that too, I used to drive onto the base for about 10 years and trust me ... there are a lot of deer around those parts!

I worked on Ft Lewis for eight years, 1978 - 1986 and saw a lot of nice bucks on the post.  My seven year old spotted a dandy, pushing B&C, pretty close to Cabelas.  There are a lot of real monsters on Johnson Point.

I worked in Dupont for the last 20 years. Those are babies. I have seen some 140-160 class bucks out in the middle of the day.

One of my customers  was telling me about a huge buck that beds under a freeway overpass near the truck scales. I pass this area 5 days a week I'll  have to keep my eyes open for him.

I hope that wasn't our boy in question!  It was a nice buck from what I can see - I hope the lady puts the antlers on the front of her rig once it's fixed.

As long as I can remember Dupont has been a no hunting area. But the local tribe gets their share... some even on the golf course.

There were a lot on Kenny Bragget's property and still are, but the tribe owns it now along with the east half of the delta.  We shot a duffle bag full of rabbits off the golf course back in the early 70s.  No shooting area and Dupont stretched was huge as far as what they claimed.  We used to hunt bandtails all the way from Steilacoom to Braggets along the BN Santefe ROW.

Hunted bandtails a lot down there when I was a kid. Hylebos Hills as we called it too, part of NE Tacoma now.
