Let's start with shooting a Mathews heli-m tactical. 65lbs with a 26" draw with qad drop away. I have lots of carbon express maxima hunters cut to 25-11/16" and they shoot great. But adding up the total grains "363.1" I'm not hitting the 390gr legal regs. I will be hunting deer and elk.
Here's the weights I'm getting per websites.
Carbon Express Maxima hunter shaft 25-11/16" @ 204.8gr.
Collar 4gr.
Nock 9.9gr.
Insert 11gr.
Nap speedfletch twister 44.4gr.
Field Tips & G5 Havoc 100gr broad heads .

I know I could add nockturnal lighted nocks but that will only add 10grs. How much would moving to 125gr tips affect this? Is there other ways? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is the problem with Washington's stupid rule.  It is darn near prejudice against people who don't fit the average archer profile.  Longer draw archers are allowed to shoot faster arrows.  Folks with faster IBO bows are allowed to shoot faster arrows.  But heaven forbid if a short draw archer wants to level the playing field.  In Washington...that S*&% ain't allowed!!

Some who support the stupid rule claim that it is designed to make sure all bowhunters shoot effective penetration arrows.  That is just as absurd a thought.  The wife shoots 24.5" draw and 50#.  Should we make her successful bow/arrow combination illegal because it doesn't fit into someone's perceived KE profile?

Should get a bunch of short draw archers together and sue the state for discrimination!   Bunch of complete horse pucky written by a bunch of people who either never shot anything in their life or hate everyone who doesn't look or talk like they do.

OP's set-up is darn near perfect for a 26" shooter!  Will take every elk, bear and deer on the planet with a good sharp broadhead of reasonable size.  Time to make this stupid rule go away!!

Funny on the about 25gr part. I knew that was coming. I got some advice about adding a 8/32 set screw behind the tip. Anyone try that here? That and lighted nocks would put me over the mark.

If you add the set screw you will want to replace the current insert.  Carbon Express manufactures their inserts to AMO/ATA standards.  Putting a set screw in there will make the threads too short for a broadhead that is also made to industry standards.  GoldTip makes an insert that will fit that shaft that is designed for that exact purpose.  Or you could use the current insert and use a broadhead like Slick Trick that does not come anywhere close to observing the industry standards.  Though it takes an awful lot of 8-32 set screw to make up that weight.

In addition to a 125 grain head just back off your peak draw weight by 1 pound and then you will be above 6 grains per pound

Good luck getting any warden to make a accurate test let alone draw your bow .... my how doesnt leave my hand  and doesn't  get drawn in less my arrow is in it

WA - early 90's once.  OR - late 90's twice.

Completely stupid, ridiculous and borderline prejudicial rule - but it's the law here.  No way I'm taking a risk by breaking it.  I've got WAY too much to lose.  And my luck is a few steps beyond pathetic.

If you already have a high foc or not completely worried about it, lumenok weigh in at just over 27 grains. That would solve your weight problem right there.

Website says 22grs but I'm sure I can take my bow down to #64 and be fine. That would put me right at the mark. Thanks guys for all the advice.

Do you know how your inserts were glued in?  Can they be removed without damaging the shaft?

I SHOT IT YESTERDAY WITH 125GRS TIPS AND DIDNT REALLY CARE FOR THAT MUCH WEIGHT UP FRONT. IM JUST GONNA GOT WITH LEMENOKS AND DROP THE BOW A POUND DOWN. THEN ILL BE GOOD BY LIKE 2 GRAINS. THANKS FOT THE ADVICE THOUGH.
