Part of my coyote harvest for the season, sent them off to NAFA yesterday.

Looks like some nice fur! One day I'll have to get into trapping and the fur dealing that goes with it. The stories of trapping in the day or Alaska fill me with enough ideas of adventure that I may just head to Alaska and see how it goes.

No, I don't pin the ears, just skin them out to the tips.  I haven't sold any yet this season, but have six in next weeks auction with NAFA.  It takes a while to get the results, so it'll be a couple of weeks before I know what they sold for.

Alaska trapping is interesting, Tracker, but you need to cover a lot of territory.  Resources are thin, and it takes a lot of land to support fur bearers.  If I could trap coyotes with leg hold traps here in Washington, I would catch more coyotes in a week, than all season in Alaska.

The good news is, last I heard, there was no limit for wolves in Alaska, with a trapping license.  I don't imagine that has changed.

I wish washington legalized leg hold traps. I have a handful I've picked up at 2nd hand stores and such. Fun to try em all out!

Wolf Trapper your pelts look great. This is the first coyote I fleshed and dried myself. Did I screw it up. It's like twice as long as it started out seems like. Maybe I used the wrong board?

That's a really good looking coyote, Eric.  It might be a little long, but it should look good once it is tanned.  NAFA has exact measurements for stretching boards on their website.  I like the grey color of that one, they are real brown around here.

Hay buddy! Sorry I haven't been by to raz ya. It's been one of those years where work is plentiful and it sucks for huntinw ith your buddies. Your first look great again this year. You do some of the best work I've seen. I will make it but one of these days soon I hope.
