I didn't really "find" them per se, my buddy did the year before and we went back to see them.  There are 2 memorial plaques on a bluff in unit 342 overlooking a large portion of unit 346 and Bald Mountain.  They have the names of 2 hunters who passed away over the last few years.  Kinda cool.  I wish I knew the stories behind them.  They are very ornate, some really nice woodwork.  They are planted in the ground very heavy duty like on 4X4 posts.  Someone went to a lot of trouble to get those out there.  There's an empty little bottle of wiskey at the base of each of them.  I'm sure they were members of one of the camps in the area that have been there forever.

Ive found nudie mags, gloves, one knife, 2 fishing poles, 1 tackle box, and twice I have ran into some shady people in the middle of no where. The first time I was about six miles in and this guy comes walking across the opening right up to me. He looked like he hadnt showerd in a month. Then he asks me what month and day it is. So I told him. Then he asks the direction of the closest town. So I point. Then he walks off. ( creepy )  The other guy was about 4 miles in at a different spot. Looked like he was trying to find his plants. :dunno:

Just remembered another one, and great thread by the way. Ran into a naked guy outside of Goldendale like two miles from the nearest road. He was just standing there, all his clothes piled next to him. This was on Halloween, and it wasn't warm. I think he was on meth. And I found a rifle on top of a Jeep, kinda. I was driving up by Windy point in the rifle deer season and this red jeep comes lumbering down the road at me. I stop, and calmly ask the guy what kind of gun he shoots. He looks at me, wonders what kind of person would ask a stupid question like that to a stranger without saying hello first. Then his face gets red, worried, and he looks in his back seat. A few cusswords later and I start laughing, and tell him his rifle is riding on top of his jeep. It was hilarious. I've also left my Benelli SBE II on my tire, ran over it and left it, only to realize it was gone when I got out at the next pheasant field. Luckily there was like 14" of fresh snow so it didn't hurt the gun at all and that nobody drove down there. How stupid can you be? Wow.

We found a pile of real nasty porn mags one year. One was some anal sex (womens) mag that had the headline "Ass pounding Insanity"  we laughed hard on that one. It became our camp mantra that year  :chuckle: :chuckle:

I found a motorola radio last year in the early season.  That is about the only thing that comes to mind right now.

......"Ass pounding Insanity"  :chuckle: :chuckle:

That sound like what happens on the crapper at our camp if guys eat too much of the elderberry pie the night before. A little too much fiber in the diet...

I ran into a you boy sitting on a stump with his 30-30 crying up a storm.  I was 6 miles in.  He had shot at and wounded a deer but didn't know where he or his dad was.

When your hand gets healed up enough so you can type easier, do you mind expanding on the story?..

Or maybe you could answer the following questions with 'Y' for yes, N for no.....

1.  Did you help the kid find the deer?
2.  Did he find the deer?
3.  Did you help him find his dad?
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

i have found a ton of different things through the years hunting in the woods but the strangest thing i came across when we were fishing a tourny up the reach and came across 3 does and one hell of a huge sheep. i mean this thing had a head the size of an excerise ball. the thing never looked like it had been sheared in it's life.
the funniest part is the does started up the hill in mule deer form and all stopped at the top of the ridge looking back down at the river and us.
then the sheep took off following suit..
we were laughing when it stopped and turned broadside and looked back too.
poor thing was confused for sure... :chuckle:

Last year I found two hand-made railroad spikes in a rotton stump, we are guessing them to be from the early 1900's, and I found a model-t piston on an old OVERGROWN logging road.  My dad found one of those HUGE handsaws they used back in the 1800's 30 years ago on the same road.  And this year we found a Knifes of Alaska Cub Bear caping knife on a game trail in the middle of a huge sage brush hill, well, acttually my dad found it, I was a little jealous, because I was looking at buying that knife when he found it.
