I'm about done.
« on: February 01, 2009, 07:38:55 AM »
About done with coyotes this year. I've hit all my properties and thinned them pretty good. That damn storm mucked up the works though. Gonna go out a couple times this week and then next weekend and I think I'll hang it up except for a hunt planned on the 28th. Gotta get ready for work anyways, It'll be good to get some sleep finally. How much longer you all hunting for?

I've got two hunts planned for the end of the month. I'm going to take the day off for my birthday, can't imagine a better way to celebrate than enjoying the great out doors. And finish out the year hunting with a good friend.

BullElk and I are going to try a little further south and see if we can come up with some new areas. We are part of the coyotes hunters that stop hunting when females start having their pups around the end of March (63 day gestation). Some of the pelts are already showing rub spots so don't imagine the pelts will be worth much in a couple of weeks anyway. Yep, for us it's winding down too. I'll probably be going thru withdrawal symptoms (twitching trigger finger, barking, blowing my calls on the way to work) for a couple of weeks after that.
