Automatic starters

I had a automatic starter installed in my wife's car. I am having an issue once in a while it acts like it won't start then we unlock it let it sit and it will start. It is an Acura TLS 2007 I am wondering if it could be the Acura anti theft not liking the starter? And of course it is in Pullman. Any ideas on these starters in these cars? I have one in my 03 ford and have had no issues. But I have in the Acura   Any info is appreciated

clean an tighten the battery terminals and or any other electric connections from ignition to battery to alternator.

Are you talking about remote start?
Could be lots of things. The doors usually have to be locked. Are all the doors locking properly?
Hood switches, if it's aftermarket, so the car won't inadvertently start when the hood is open. Check that. Make sure it's in position correctly. Those sorts of things.

Yes remote start. It won't start but all the alarms and lights go on. The terminals are all tight. I guess its going to be a road trip Wednesday for me. Yes it is aftermarket. And a newer battery. Yes she says they all lock properly. It just sucks if I was there I probably can figure it out. Thanks Everyone

Does the car always start when she starts it normally with the key?? Remote start is not a different starter, it's more of a switch that starts the car without the key. So is the remote start acting up causing a no start or is the car not starting intermittently in general??

Yes it will not start with the auto starter or the key? I am heading over early tomorrow to hopefully bring the car home. I will take it back to the shop that put the remote start in and hope its something easy. I just dont want to have to take it to Acura..... Bend over Buddy!!!

I'd be willing to bet that the problem is not with the remote start if it happens when starting both ways. Maybe a connection issue at the battery. More than likely maybe a starter issue...but I betcha it's not remote start related.

Who did the Install?

I would bet money if Acura did not do the install, the problem is how they wired it.
I have seen a ton of issues with remote starters, most of the time it is how the installer wired it that causes the problems. And the problems can be anything from Windows and door locks not working correctly, alarms go off intermittently, to starter nonstop grinding, and premature alternator death.

The fact that it won't start with the key or remote would indicate that the problem is probably not the remote starter.  Did you check all of the connections on the starter itself?
