Dillon 550 - Help Please
« on: February 22, 2016, 04:57:02 PM »
Setup my new Dillon using youtube, still having issues with the powder loader. I can get the push rod to move up
but it does not move the levers to open up for the powder to drop. Here is a picture of my setup.
Also if anyone looking to sell a case trimmer I am in need of one.
Thanks Mike

Can't see what you have going on there-
An easy bet is to call Dillon in the morning.
Excellent customer service and they will hook you up.

Mike, the push rod does not open the powder charge bar, it only pulls it back into closed position on the return stroke. If you don't have a brass case in the powder station, it won't drop any powder.

The powder dispenser is case activated; you have to adjust the powder die so it gives the right amount of throw with your cases. If it's a pistol caliber, this adjustment will also determine how much flare the case mouths get. (You do have the powder funnel installed, right?)

Thanks for all your inputs.
Called Dillon end up signing up for a one year subscription.
Dan,
Yes I have the funnel installed. I am setup up for .223.  Did not know it was case activated. Boy do I feel silly.
Mike
