Iron Sights/Parts in Puget Sound Area
« on: February 23, 2016, 12:22:30 PM »
Hello,

Does anyone know of any shops in the Puget Sound area where one might be able to find vintage receiver sights, tang sights, apertures for same, etc?
Sometimes you luck on to a place where they have a fairly substantial supply of used and NOS stuff in cardboard boxes in a shelf, but these places are getting fewer and farther in between. Stan Baker used to have lots of used parts in storage, as did Kesselrings, but these guys are gone. I'm really not familiar with shops in south King County and beyond. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Cliff

It's been a while that I have been to a WAC gun show, but there used to be a guy that always had loads and loads of bins of parts, including some vintage site sets and parts.  Someone might have his info.  He was at the Puyallup show and always seemed to have a table near the NW entrance of the building.

Oh, that's right, I forgot about him! A great guy. I bought an old El Paso 2.5 power from him, probably 25 years ago :) I haven't been to a WAC show in ages but this may be a good excuse to join again. Thanks for your suggestion.

I went to a WAC show the other weekend for the first time in a very long time and seem to remember a booth or 2 with that sort of stuff. I'm not a member. Don't think I'd become a member just to buy some iron sights. The guns that were there were very high priced. I definitely wouldn't become a member so I could buy guns. I did buy some .22 ammo at a reasonable price but it took a lot of searching and some luck. Also bought a recurve bow at what I thought was a decent deal.
