I've loaded the 160g and they have been disappointing.  Just a gimmick in my opinion.

The best accuracy that I've found in the 30-30 is either the Sierra 150g flat nose or the Speer Hot core 150 FN -

So no good reports on the factory Lever revolution? Is there something better I guess? I have seen the people say that when it works, it works great though, and farther..  I was leaning towards the 160gr factory loads for starters, I dont have dies yet.

I have a marlin 336ss with a leupold scout 1.5-4 and i shot my little whitetail spike this year during the late season at about a 100yds with the 160grn Lever evolution and it ran about 20yds in a half circle towards me and dropped. The ammo gave me right around an inch +or- a little at hundred yards. The bullet exited the neck so i wasn't able to recover it.

Tagging along, I bought a couple boxes of the 160 Grain Lever-evolution projectiles and I even think I bought the dies.  I have not yet executed that plan though.  I think the plan was to originally stuff Win 748 powder in the cases if I remember correctly.

I have a Marlin 336C 30-30, set up identically to my Marlin 45/70 guide gun, and I've used the Leverrevolutions to hunt hogs down in Texas. Mine were 160 grains too. They do a good job, they're accurate, and they cycle through mine without any problems. My Guide Gun likes the 325 gr Leverrevolution rounds, but I've only found them in 250gr and 325gr. The 45/70 likes to throw some hefty lead, so I'm a little disappointed that the Leverrevolutions don't come in a 350 grain for those. I'm gearing up for some reloading of those, and the logic seems to be that with the 325 grain, the cartridge is already about as full as it can stand if you hope to still make cartridge length that'll fit the Guide Gun.

No such problems with the 30-30, of course. I haven't tried the 140gr rounds, Macs B.  Honestly, I've been hunting hogs for a few years, so I'll need to check and see what grain I used to use on deer in Maine.  I thought I used 160gr.  I hunted hogs in Texas, because hunting Texas deer is like hunting Holsteins and Jerseys over at farmer Brown's place. If you have a pocket full of corn, they'll walk right up to you and eat it out of your hand. Seriously. You're allowed to feed them. Not exactly sporting. And the deer are tiny, too.

Whatever grain I use, I'm looking forward to hunting deer here in Washington; my Marlin 30-30 lever action was my favorite deer rifle back in Maine.

Sorry to slip off-topic there.  :sry:  I've just been working with the ammo for both lever-actions lately, and gearing up for reloading both calibers as well. :)

I load them in my 32 win with good success.  They perform well on game and shoot accurately.  I'm using imr3031.  Haven't played with them in the 30-30 yet though.

I shot some 160gr 30-30 Lever evolution ammo. Seemed to group around an inch, no better, in a 336 rifle. I have settled in on Federal 150gr blue box ammo as my hunting load when someone needs to use the rifle. When I was little, my Dad loaded up some Hornaday 150gr flat nose bullets over a dose of IMR 4350. Was mild and shot well. Knocked the snot out of quite a few Pennsylvania whitetails with those reloads Dad made. That was always my first shot, He did not crimp them, and loaded the tube with factory ammo. Never needed a follow up shot.
