Among other things, if the paper had yellowed, the photo would have too.

And if the reference is to Mineral, Washington, then a newspaper founded in 1802 (three years prior to Lewis and Clark's winter on the Oregon coast) is highly unlikely!

Back in 1998, I Caught a Rainbow that was 34.5 inches outa that Lake, on a #5 black/silver Rapala. They retire a Toad or two in that lake every year I suspect.
