Last time I was there was back in 95, right before I joined the Air Force, would like to take my kids up there some day so they can see the deer.  Good pic, thanks for posting it.

northeast oregon eagle cap wilderness area...great vacation spot. very beautiful area with lots of touristy-type stuff to do. i'd highly recommend it, but it takes a while to get there from here, it's an awesome road trip though if you're into road tripping.

Love that place. Was there about three years ago. Might make a fam trip there next summer! Those deer are freakishly tame. When we first got there, my dad and I were "making stalks" on those bucks for a pic. My dad then tapped me on the shoulder during a stalk and pointed over to the 6 year old girl petting about a 170 buck :chuckle:

We went to Wallowa lake ever year when I was little. The biggest buck I ever saw, I fed right out of my truck window.  I tried to help him in  the back of my truck but no luck.

Went up there for a day when I was in college back in 2000.  Hadn't heard of them before, so it was quite the surprise.

Did the same thing, thought we had to sneak up on them as they were bedded all over in the shade.  One finally got up and walked right up to us.  Pretty neat.

So we gave him some Dorito's  :chuckle:

heard a story online somewhere that somebody lured a buck into a horse trailer down there with apples dont know how much truth there is to it, but it did say he was caught and got into some major trouble for it

I was there about a month ago and saw him and all his buddies.   Kids loved seeing those darn things all over the campground.

Our family has a ranch north of Enterprise. The lake is cool and the word is getting out. Seems like summer is more and more busy every year. I think you need to book a year in advance to get a camp spot. I am headding down in a few weeks for Deer season! Hope to find one like the big boys at the lake! Cant wait!
