I live in Roy. We had a litter 2 weeks ago. First litter from this female. Se is out of Alberta. Great hunting dog. She was leaping off of a 6' dock at 4 months to retrieve. Bred with a Silver. We have 3 males left. Great dogs. Her pups carry the silver gene. It is a dilute gene. When her pups are bred with a dog with the silver gene you have a 50% chance to get silvers.

Would like to work with the trainer that had a dog retrieving at 4 months. Or even close to it. I am a first time water dog person and at 7 months not there yet (or close). Please let me know the contact info.

Craig, throw a ball, there Labs! If they don't know how to swim and bring the ball back, you won't have to dig a hole! :twocents:

She owes the ball and brings that back. Was thinking someone had a lab retrieving ducks at 4 months.

I always have my pups retrieving birds before 4 months.

What are you doing to encourage the retrieve?

You are welcome to come down and train and we can see what you need to work on.

Strike just under 4 months here.

Been working basic training like "sit, stay, etc". Work got super busy and have not found any training methods for a water dog that really look right for me. She will retrieve thrown balls etc. Shamefully I need to "get started" but need a little guidense. Would drive out to train some for sure!

Craig- Have you ever been to an HRC event? We have 2 clubs close to you, and this weekend the Cascade Chapter is having a test in Snohomish, if you have the time you should visit, chat folks up, and see if it's for you. http://www.meetup.com/Cascade-Hunting-Retriever-Club/

the other club is Whistling wings, and they test on Peppers property ( and Carlsons??) http://www.whistlingwingshrc.com/
