Finally had a chance to get the new boat out on a fishing trip today.  Myself and a buddy went out this morning and had a blast learning this new thing called trolling, lol.  I grew up fishing creeks, rivers and the banks of lakes.  But man, it's all different from a boat.  Pretty fun trying to figure out this trolling thing.  Different speeds, different depths, different presentations, different color lures, different dodgers/flashers, etc.  Man its a lot to learn, but it's fun.  Didnt catch any fish but learned a few things, mostly about my boat.  Will be taking the family out tomorrow,  more for exploring than fishing, but still time on the water.

Looks like it was the perfect day to be out?  Where did you launch and what were you after?  I may have some tips for you

Launched at Fort spokane.  Going after kokes and trout, but mainly just trying to learn.  Didnt bother me that we didn't catch anything.  Was getting ready to adjust depth and speeds when my trolling motor decided to quit working, and still had 12.3 volts on the batteries.  Something I have to look into.

drive down here and I'll show you walleye fishing.  You don't need your boat as we can use mine.

I may take you up on that my next set of days off, in 2 weeks.  I can't do weekends as that's family time, but during the week is perfect.  What day would work for you?

The family and I went out today, and tried bottom bouncers with walley plugs tipped with worms, trolled at 1mph in front of Sandy beaches.  Still didn't catch a thing.  I'm thinking of changing the name of my boat from "Rag Time" to "Fishless One", lol

Don't feel bad, locating fish on Roosevelt is always a chore as the water level changes so much.  Where you were catching them a week ago, could be high and dry today.
They were hitting the Walleyes pretty regular this week in the tributaries.
Spent most of my $$ on huntin, fishin & retrievin dogs, the rest I just pretty much wasted.

Will be headed out Wednesday to try again for some koks.  If nothing, then try to find some eyes.  Then thus day to banks lake.  If anyone is free Wednesday I'll have an open seat.  You'll have to bring your own gear, as I still don't have everything.  But it'll be a good time anyway!

Was a beautiful day on roosevelt today.  The koks weren't bitting at all.  Didnt see one netted, and talked with several at the dock who said the same.  Did Hansen harbor and the bay just west of keller.  The guy I was fishing with did pick up two decent trout at keller.  Then we went looking for some walleye the last 2 hours I had left.  I was able to get 2 of them, no size, but will be good eating just the same.

That may work.   I'll get some intel on Moses and the Potholes the next couple of days to see where to fish.
