calf moose?

   when a cow moose with a calf is shot what happens to the calf?  can it make it on their own since moose are not a herd animal like deer and elk?  mike w

 :dunno: I would imagine that it would be tough for them to survive if they are the same year's calf.

 you kill two moose when you shoot the cow. Calf would have an almost impossible time surviving.  :twocents:

When a buddy drew a cow tag he called the biologist and they said that the calves would be fine.

Very low survival for orphan moose calves.  From Wyoming 2015 moose regs: Antlerless moose, except cow moose with calf at side
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
