Two nights ago i parked my truck at a locked gate, slept in the bed to hike in to hunt bear in yhe a.m.  had a bird gobbling like crazy in his roosting tree maybe 50 yards away at most.  When i woke up at daybreak there were two jakes and s hen walking by my truck followed by a big strutting gobbling tom.  I probably couldve reached out and grabbed his beard  :chuckle:

Day before that i saw a truck with camper parked on the side of the road in the morning.  Assuming the occupants were down hunting the timber below.  There was a hen with two showoff toms in full strut less than 30 yards from the rig.  Guess i shouldve taken a pic of that one.  Anybody here hunting out of a red and white truck with a camper parked alongside a 50mph road recently?

Theyre gobbling in roost all around my house as i type this

Friday they were gobbling well in the afternoon even with the heavy wind. Yesterday almost the same conditions and I didn't hear a thing. I think some days they just don't gobble very much.
