Another cartridge that is just wicked on chucks is the 6.5-284, I had McMillan build me a tactical, 9 twist, 6.5-284 with a 28"  Schnieder barrel. I shot the 95gr V-max's and they were flat smokin :o.It blew groundhogs to pieces. Here are some pictures of the 6.5's work. The second picture is a real monster of a Chuck he took it like a champ at around 300 yards. Sorry about the quality of the pics, they are digital pics of regular prints.

What's left of 5 Chucks.

Super Chuck soaked up a 95gr V-Max like a champ!

I have some 180gr NBT loaded for my .338 win and I'm thinking of getting a 243wssm upper for my AR which should do a job on chucks. I cleaned out an friends orchard and killed about 300 of them in a year, they have had any problems again yet and its been 3 years :chuckle:. At work I have shot a few with pellet guns, talk about a change becuase some shots where 100yd's. :yike:

The 40gr Nosler bt out of a 22-250 seemed to make the come apart, the 50gr noslers did a good job too. I have to say I have never seen one comapart like with the 180 noslers out of the .338 though :chuckle:

Atomicjoe23,

It is built on a Remington 700 Short Action, all the work was done by Randy Cain at http://www.rdprecision.net/.

The stock looked an awful lot like a Surgeon rifle is why I asked. . .I like your M4 by the way. . .would love to have one myself, but I don't see it happening anytime in the near future. . .

The stock is a AICS Chassis system, they are used by many different Tactical rifle builders. They are a "Drop in stock" for any Rem700, long or short action.

I did that a little last summer. At first I didn't see the point but after nailing a couple at 200yds with my 22-250 I know I'll do it again. That was fun. :hunter:

SNS Industries lower(Snohomish WA)

BushMaster lower parts kit with 2 stage match trigger.

CMT Upper with CMT bolt and bolt carrier group.

White Oak Armament 1-10 twist  26" Stainless heavy barrel assembly and gas block(1" under the hand guard .850@ Muzzle.

White Oak custom handguard.

MagPul darkearth CTR 6-Position stock, Miad grip and 30 round P-Mag.

This rifle held honest 5 shot 1-1 1/4 inch groups at 300 yards in no wind with factory Hornady 32gr V-Max ammo. I have since loaded up a bunch of different combo's with the 32gr and 40gr V-Max's and the 32gr Berger Match but have yet found the time to shoot them.

Thanks! Provided I can ever find uppers and lowers, I may have just found an idea for my next build.
