Spada lake

Fishing Spada in a few days and have never fished it before. It's been on my list of lakes for awhile and I heard there can be some nice trout in there. Any tips on type of bait that works best would be appreciated. Thanks 👍🏽

Check the regs it's special rules no bait and no lead. I fished it once but not for long. I know there are some big fish there and very little pressure.

Dad and I fished it when I was small. We trolled pop gear with a spoon fly behind it,or a flatfish. We caught some dandys out of there. Always think back and wonder how good we would have done if we tipped it with a night crawler. Lol

years ago back when they lowered the water level in Spada.... somewhere in the early 80's it was legal to use bait in the feeder streams that fed Spada. I wanted to use bait in Spada also and when they lowered the lake level we fished in what was lake but then was feeder streams. It had a bunch of cutts in it but they were skinny and hungry.

I've caught a few trout up there on flies but nothing reliable. Sure is a pretty place to spend the day.
