WTS 1943(?) M1 Carbine - Inland Division of GM
« on: May 02, 2016, 06:33:02 PM »
Wondering if anyone can help me determine a ballpark value on this rifle.  The little bit I've read says factors like flip safety vs. button and bayonet lug may add value.  S/N is 799xxx.  It has the oiler but no sling, and sadly someone refinished the stock.

It's my sons rifle and he needs some cash to offset college costs.

Thanks!

I'd say ballpark 600-900.

I have one made by rock-ola  and Springfield.

Does yours have a single peep ring or does the sight appear L shaped with two appetures and it flips?

It has the single peep ring.  I'll post a pic tonight.

As a slight hijack on this, I have a carbine as well that could use a little checking out. It fires but doesn't always feed the next round. Anyone know who might play with these things locally?

I have two as mentioned earlier and the thing to do is strip it down and really clean it. I mean really clean it. And use oil AND grease in appropriate locations.  That should fix 90% of failure to feeds or extracts. They are a simple design,  similar to m 14 and Garand. Both of mine were sporadic in function to I got a reproduced GI manual and cleaned the Dickens out of it. Problem solved. People tend to totally oil the daylights out of the things and Lotta foreign .30 c ammo is dirty. Good luck.
