My Sendero Shoots (new scope)!!!

Was that group all at 25 yards?  If so here is one thing I have not seen mentioned.  Remember each click at 25 yards only moves the 1/16".  You would need to move the scope 16 clicks to get the group to move one inch at 15 yards, so not terribly surprising that you were not noticing the group much as you've described.  Your group appeared to be off by as much as 4" which would require the scope to be moved 64 clicks to the left to bring it to dead nuts on the bullseye at 25 yards.

Yeah, I realize that, but it wouldn't move at all. Anyway, I got it dialed in, but now have a new scope, so I gotta start over. Oh well.

Well hope the new scope dials in better and easier for you.  I gotta admit, I have had very little luck with having a gun bore sighted and it even being on paper at 100 yards, so I always start at 25 as you did.

I just gotta get ahold of a bore-sighter before this weekend. I tried doing it at home by placing a target on the wall and looking down the barrel, but I don't know if that worked so well. I may just have to break down and buy one...

My boresighter seems to be decent for me but I always start at 25 pr 50 first so that im atleast on paper but ti seems to put it darn close to the bullseye from the beginning, but I have only sighted in 2 rifles with it.....

Save your money.  The way you described it above is exactly how you do it. 

I am on paper at 100 yards every time doing it the way you described it above. At the range, put the gun in the rest, front and rear bags, pull the bolt and put the center of the target in the center of the bore.  Move the scope to the center of the target.  Boom, you're on paper!

Maybe it's a good thing I haven't ever used a boresighter. I use the same old fashioned method haugenna mentioned above. Works great. Only with bolt action rifles though.

Amazed everytime I see that photo. Scary.

Plus, I can see this happen.

All the more reason to always have a buddy to help as an extra safety check.....Of course we always treat all weapons as always loaded.... I still always say aloud..."this is for real" when I bring ammo to gun.

That gun does shoot, just got done putting a few rounds threw it with Brent and I think I'll be buying one this week. Now to buy the 4.5-14  or the 6.5-20 so manny decissions.

It was cool to get to watch somebody else shoot it and stand back 15 feet and feel the shockwave...  It was also nice to see it didn't bother the deer much.

That 6.5-20 would be nice, especially if you take a shot at the clay bank.  I would just worry about a close shot opportunity like we talked about.

How do you think the recoil rates vs. other calibers? I think my .300 RUM with that same break feels about the same as my .25-06.

What recoil?  Honestly, it feels like shooting my .243. I know for a fact it has less than my .270.

You get into the 240 SMKs... and there's some bump. But with the normal stuff in the 180-210 range the recoil is nice. It's pretty sweet to watch a 210 hammer the steel at 600... sometimes I'll even see the vapor trail in the scope.
