Need info for a gun trade decision
« on: May 22, 2016, 09:03:52 AM »
I was planning on selling my Springfield xdm.40 full size.  I have the original case with three mags, a Serpa level two holster, 200 rounds of fmj, and all the pieces that came with the gun except the two other grip pieces.  The gun is in pretty good shape and I've probably only put 300 rounds through it.  I think I paid $750ish brand new like five years ago.
I don't use it so I wanted to sell it and buy something easier to carry like another glock 43.
I had someone offer to trade me a Winchester model 94 post 64 30/30 in relatively good shape just a few minor scratches.  I don't know much other than that.
I have always wanted a model 94 30/30 and never had an opportunity to buy one but it's kind of a dream gun.

Here's the dilemma, I have no idea what the Winchester is worth, what my xd is worth (although I would like to see close to $600 for it), and if I want a pre 64 or a post 64.  Just looking for some general insight on what stuff is worth and which era of model 94 I would want.  Thanks in advance.

I see a lot of those xd's in the $450-$500 range. You can kind of get an average looking on gun broker.

So yours must be a competition springfield? Does it have the big slot cut out of the top of the slide? They are 5.25" If I remember right and I don't think that have a 5.5" model.

If it is the competition model with 200 round and holster I would say you are pretty spot on at 550-600 for a value on it. I am also assuming it blued and not a stainless.

Well I'm glad you said that because I was wrong it's the 4.5" xdm...  I'm guessing my value is quite high now?
