Okanogan Deer Hunters
« on: May 22, 2016, 09:44:31 PM »
Hey everyone,  I have  been  deer hunting  Okanogan  204 for  going  on  8 years now and  am curious  who else on hear regularly hunt rifle deer in Okanogan. Also curious  who has managed  to Draw  the late buck and quality  tag for that unit. Would  like to hear your  success and  also who hunts there! Looking  forward  to  a good season!
Lets go, we got fish to catch on the boondocks!!!

Friend of ours drew the Quality tag a few years back and ended up with tag soup. He had what he wanted in mind and just never saw the he wanted.

I've hunted in the 204 unit many times with most success coming from the late tag draws. It's a great are with some amazing territory that I truly love to hunt.

I drew the late season buck tag last season and was successful on a nice big 8 point whitetail. It was a fun hunt and I got to have my dad sitting next to me on that hunt which made it a little more special. As we get older we get less time to spend hunting and fishing together so it was great.

The whitetail seem to taking over more and more area over there. Great seeing a bunch of nice whitetails but I sure would like to see the mule deer hold their ground better in some areas over there. Seems like when the whitetails move in, they dominate the area

I agree. This time of year I mostly have been seeing mulies. At least where we hunt. But come hunting season mostly all white tails with a few mulies here and there. Even went up higher looking for mulies last season and ran into the whitetails. Couldn't get away

My 13 year old boy just drew the 204 late rifle season Whitetail tag.  He does not need a trophy but would like an opportunity at something larger than his first two bucks ( spikes).  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!  We are flexible on time just need to get back by the 20th.

Go the last week and grunt , three times and wait 45 minutes then try again. If that doesn't work try a new spot , find the doe's and there will be a Buck around stay put get in position early. have great time.
