What would you do?
« on: May 23, 2016, 08:09:22 PM »
Let's say you see a family fishing , looks like two adults and two kids . All have rods out and appear to be having a pretty good evening. Just happens to be in lake Washington which you know to be closed but if they only read the pamphlet would appear to be open.
Call it in ? Or let it figure itself out?

Hypothetically of course.

I see people all the time fishing Pass Lake at Deception Pass with bait casters :yike:, I just let them figure it out.  :chuckle:

Let them know. Take the time to drive down and find them. I would hate to see someone misinterpret the rules and the GW get them on a bad day. Plus he is a dad and I would hate to see them get busted in front of his family.

:yeah: let them know. Be friendly and let them know you're trying to help them not get a ticket and a ruined evening out with the kids. We are all ambassadors of the outdoors, let the wildlife cops be cops. We have great opurtunity to leave a lasting impression on the youth and hopefully adults if we recognize it when it comes along.

Ok and to add a twist , let's just say you were working and unable to pull off a visit to the group?

I don't know, I guess you're the one to see it, follow your gut. If I were to see a group of people, possibly a small family enjoying a day on the water, not causing any issue to my knowledge, I would probably let it sort itself out.if o saw a group of shady individuals including kids with a bucket load of fish , tossing treble hooks and a gill net.... I may call it in.  :twocents:

In that situation, considering I have a hard time imagining they're doing a lot of immediate damage to any fish populations, I'd probably let it sort itself out. And I'd hope that any enforcement arriving on the scene would act with sensibility. I'm sure there are people who might have read the regs, and just don't know about the closure.

Basically, what CBOND said  :yeah:
