Idaho 2nd tag sale
« on: May 25, 2016, 03:02:45 PM »
Last year Idaho had 2nd deer tags on sale during to summer for $200 bucks.  Haven't seen them this year yet.  Anyone know if they plan on doing it this year?

They have been doing it the past few years, I haven't heard anywhere that they plan on changing their policy. It's based off of a quota system they have for out of state tags. Once the quota is filled for an area there's no more tags to buy. So long as there's room in the quota you can buy one of the tags, works the same for elk. During the summer they reduce the price to get people buying them.

If they do the sale again it won't be until August 1st as the 2nd tags are leftover from the nonresident quota, deer was $200 last year and elk $300

Can you get a 2nd without a 1st?
Economy failure = Too many people spending money they don't have on things they don't need to impress people they don't like.

No

Questions and Answers
Q. Who can buy a second tag?
A. Any hunter, no matter where they live, who has purchased a hunting license and a 2015 deer or elk tag at the regular price can buy a second tag for the same species at the nonresident price.

Tags are sold on a first come – first served basis and supplies are limited to the available nonresident tag quota, which for 2015 is 12,815 for elk and 15,500 for deer.

They lowered the 2nd elk tag price to $299 for the month of August however no reduction to deer this year, full nonresident price of $300 for a 2nd deer tag
