My new Traditions Vortex NW magnum has always fired and my old TC  Black Diamond has always fired too.
Make sure you keep the firing pin assembly clean on the Vortek. Mine got gunked up, leaving the pin protruding from its housing. I reloaded and when I closed it, it slam fired. Very scary.

Strike fires are junk I have had mine back to the factory and it still fails to strike hard enough to set RWS primers off every  time. The dynamite Nobel caps work with it but they are like hens teeth.  If I'm shooting at game it's going to be a knight.  Not to mention the two pards that hate theirs as well. Real POS.

A friend of mine got the strikefire problem too even with German caps.  Shame cause it is otherwise hunter friendly. I liked it but Bighorn is dependable in every way.  Just plan to add a peep.
