Anyone hunt AZ 18b for mule deer?
« on: July 20, 2016, 08:18:25 AM »
Hey guys,
Just curious if anyone has hunted 18b in AZ for deer? I'm headed out for some hunting in late August for OTC archery. Wondering if anyone has advise or pics of bucks they may have take in the area? Thanks.

One of my best freinds lives in the unit and hunts it all the time. Here is a pic of the buck he took last november.

Nice Buck.
18b just got a little harder to draw next year.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up.. I've been out scouting 2 different times, but found this cool looking area on my way home my last time out (I was actually scouting 17a/17b, but this area in 18b looked super cool so I changed my plan and this range in 18b will be where I'm gonna try and hunt). I spoke to the game Warden Jake, but he just gave me the "general info". He said there's deer in the unit and to just spend the time learning the area.. I'm going to be about 8miles NE out of Bagdad in this cool mountain range I saw driving home. Looks like you could glass and hike for days in all directions.. My only concern is water, but I guess I'll find out when I get there. I'm headed over for the Memorial Day weekend so I'll have a full 3.5 days (solo) to hunt. I know that's not much, but that's all I have for now. I'm super stoked to check it out and sit behind my glass and see what's out there.

Also, since this will be my first archery mule deer hunt, I'm definitely not trophy hunting. Any legal deer will do me just right!
