Scotchman's peak hike
« on: August 20, 2016, 09:30:20 PM »
My daughters and I hiked Scotchman's today. This is a great way to kill a saturday. It is a pretty good workout though. Bring water. For those of you who don't know about it, it's out of Clark Fork and it's trailhead 65. 4.2 miles to the top with a 4000 verticle gain so it's a good workout. Have fun.

And the very best thing about those pictures (besides the handsome people and the good dog)?  There is no smoke in the valleys below.  Hallelujah, and what a difference from last year.  (The big lake is beautiful--this is the best time of the year to be up there.)

Any huckleberries around?

There was Just a Little smoke but not much. And the Hucks were definitely in, we found a couple pretty good patches and snacked a little bit. Some are actually just starting to dry up
