When I was in the market for a semi-auto, I set out to buy anything but a Benelli just because everybody else had one. One day at Cabelas I was checking out a beretta extrema when the guy behind the counter had me try a SBEII.... I walked out with the SBEII and have never looked back. The feel is amazing and yes they are worth the hype!!! We hunt salt water on the coast and I have never had a single problem with it, plus they break down super easy so that you can clean it inside and out.

I have an xtrema2 and it is very nice and has never caused me any problems. I would say you won't go wrong with any of the higher end semi-autos, just pick the one that fits you the best.

I was fortunate enough to try out A few of the major ones before I bought mine. I have the SBEII. I love it. If you're paying $1200-$1700 for a shotgun, they're all going to be good.

Browning Maxus has been awesome!! It will truly shoot and eject everything from dove loads to the heaviest 3 1/2" loads.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!

Winchester SX3 here works great swings nice I'm happy with it,
I had an older Benelli SBE it was an awesome gun also but it had blued/matt finish and collected surface rust .

I shoot a Benelli 1. Purchased because it felt the best when shouldering; just a natural placement every time I tried it in the store. I also like the ease of cleaning; no gas operated fuss like my old Barreta or Remington. My only complaint with Benelli was the customer service which now day might be a different story. It would help you decide if you could shoot a few clay pigeons with your considered guns. Good hunting!
