Wyoming Unit 124 for Elk
« on: August 30, 2016, 07:43:25 PM »
Anybody out there that has any experience in Wyomings Unit 124?  Some say it is a great unit, others say tough hunt.  Just wondering if anyone on this site has been down there and would be willing to share any thoughts.  Thanks.

you draw this overly coveted tag???

This tag is so sought after/hard to get because it's part of the red desert elk herd. Finding elk is easy since you are hunting in sage. Locals to Rock Springs and Green River put in for this since it's right out their back door. I know people that see elk here "regularly" from the road, as in once a month or two.

If you have this tag, let me know, I know a fellow who may be willing to give you a few insider tips.

Hey Josh. Any help would be much appreciated.  We have been in the unit a few years back, but not hunting for elk.  Heading over for a couple scouting trips and will be hunting the opener for several days.  Plan on staying around Rock Springs.  Thank you,

Got a picture of a bruiser in the 100 unit to the north.  I think the gentleman who had the tag last year is happy.  Might have been happier if he would have taken a look at him first.  Take your time and look at your options.  They can move a long ways if pushed.  A lot of holes to hide in that 'flat' ground.  Good luck.  I'm heading that way soon to try archery with a general tag.
