What could be wrong? I just got home from eastern Washington almost home going up hills my turbo was winding up but losing power?? I need ideas before I take it to the shop. Before I get hosed from the dealer. Its time for a new truck. 2003 f-350 6.0. Frustrated...

Blowing smoke? Using or making oil? Can you hear anything abnormal, running rough etc.

Not blowing smoke, just turbo winding up and louder than normal and no power. I will check on the oil

sounds like a boost leak. check intercooler and all boots as well as air intake boots and lines coming out of the turbo. sounds like the turbo is hurting for air which would cause the loss of power as well as the noise.

It could make level in the intercooler look higher if it is air leak.

Clogged air filter can cause the turbo to whine. I'd rule out the simple stuff first.

I'd make sure all the hoses that connect the intercooler piping are connected properly and are in good condition. They can get old and split or just pop off and when or if that happens you'll definitely notice less power and more noise.

Personally I only go to the dealer if it's covered under warranty. Sorry I can't recommend a muffler shop in Tacoma.
