Exhaust leak after the turbo will not cause you to lose power in a diesel. I would check your intercooler hoses there very  prone to come loose or split.... If anything you would probably gain power with your exhaust broke off, not loose power.

Pretty easy to do it yourself, I agree.  I replaced mine last year with a Diamond Eye setup.

I also agree with other posts, this sounds more like an intercooler hose issue than anything.  You are probably losing power because your turbo can't build up the pressure.

Not on that year of ford, the didn't go to the dpf exhaust system tell 08 with the 6.4l.

I agree that the CaC tube issue is still the most likely cause but the exhaust needs to be fixed either way.

6.0, cant help but think heads!  Plugged egr head gasket?

interesting you get full spool, loss of power and no smoke.  Something is pulling back the fuel under boost.   If it was a boost leak you'd see lot's of smoke as you're still full fuel but lacking air = black smoke

not familiar with 6.0's but I'd look for something that would restrict fuel - like mudman's theory of the EGR

Check coolant.  Replace egr or clean it carefully.  Easy enough to do.  Then drive it and see?  Boost problem possible.Lot of times you can hear swoosh of boost leaks when under high boost.  Egr common issue and you should clean/replace it regardless.  Learn about these 6.0 so you can prevent spending 5000$ in the future, which will happen.
