I haven't heard 1 other person make a bugle yet. I also have yet to hear any elk or find fresh sign. No wonder no one's where I'm at. I wish I knew people who were willing to hunt out of state idaho. Feel like I waste my time in wa each year.

Is says your from Spokane heck Idaho is your back yard. Go for it. Plenty of elk in N. Idaho

I decided today even though it's only been 3 days. But 9 years hunting in this same area that's thicker than crap and only get a chance at 1 elk in all the area that's covered I'm done with WA. Seasons are crap compared to other states that have more elk. I'll either elk hunt every other year if I don't want to shell out the out of state fees each year or I will anyways. Idaho is closest but I don't know the area at all so I'll need to do some scouting next year.  I'm thinking about maybe Colorado since their tag isn't that much more and even better elk hunting I'm assuming? Any opinions?
learn what's close and easy to get to to hunt. Lots of good elk hunting in the panhandle. Get out there and start looking

I'm kinda thinking the panhandle just without knowing much at all. If anyone needs a caller next year and will allow me to tag along just to learn the area if I haven't figured it out yet by then please let me know!

Yeah yesterday was an absolute zoo where I was at.  Saturday was epic and I only saw 3 other hunters. I had a front row seat as one group bugled and the other hunter cow called.  They kept working toward each other.  And I had a view from 25 feet up on the other side of a meadow.  Funny thing was two big Bulls actually came in and so did a cow that was one step away from getting my arrow in her but she caught me mid draw.  But yesterday- it was bad.  I would guess there were at least 30 hunters in the immediate area.  I bugged out and put some distance between me and them.  Thought like an elk and went steep and ran into a herd almost 1000 feet up and two miles away.  Had to pull out for a work commitment but I'll be back in there on Wednesday.
