Antler growth in August?
« on: October 10, 2016, 09:13:42 AM »
I just checked trail cameras only to find that one of them died early due to some bad batteries. It had a couple decent looking bucks and the last pics of them were around July 21st. This is in the NE corner too.  I'm wondering how much more growth could be expected during the last part of July and August? I'd suspect a little more but not much. :dunno:

I would agree. They're pretty much done at that point.

One of the local mulie bucks  let me grab his antlers in July . Even though they were covered in velvet the antlers under the velvet were hard as a rock. No more growth after they get hard.
