Whats your biggest Metalhead
« on: February 11, 2009, 11:28:15 AM »
Whats your biggest steelhead to date. Lets see some pics. My biggest to date was caught back in 2005. It measured up at 41.5 inches by 23.25 calculated out to be 28.5lbs. I couldnt get rid of the smile on my face for a week. Second biggest came the following year he measured in at 40inches by 23inches, calculated out at 27.3lbs.
Freindship is like peeing on yourself. Everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling it brings.

I haven't been able to get out much this year due to military commitments but here's a pic of my brother's biggest this season.

He caught it at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater rivers @ Clarkston and it weighed around 20 lbs.

I think your girth measurement is off.  You must have meant 21"" not 11",  right? May not have quite tipped 23lbs but easily over 20 w/ a 21" girth.

That sure looks like the boatlaunch in wenatchee off the loop trail... riverfront park I think its called...  Not doubting you but even the mountains in the background are exactly the same lol

I shouldnt have said girth,11 inches top of the back to bottom of the belly,we weighed it after it set for 3 hrs in the box,So girth was probley23 to 24 I gave that fish to stan to have mounted with a large hen

I'm trying to remember.... I'm pretty sure I have 7 fish over 20 all on the fly.

3 while in Russia... one of these was 38 x 25 (likley my biggest)
2 on the Dean
2 on the Bulkley... had a 40 x 22 hen: prettiest brightest 1 I ever caught.

I've never got one of the real pigs on the Thompson or the Kispiox.  A bunch in the mid teens though.  I got one on bait in the Clearwater that probably went 20.  It was a hatchery fish that weight 18 and change after being gutted and sitting in a cooler for a couple days.
