Turkey hunting guides?
« on: October 18, 2016, 09:25:14 AM »
My old high school is a very small private school that works on a very thin budget.. they hold a auction every year that is dedicated to buying supplies or sport equipment and such.
I have done things in the past to help but this year I am thinking of buying a 2 day turkey Hunt and donating it to the auction.
Please feel free to pm me on what you would charge me  for this 2 day Hunt.
Thank you.
If its brown knock it down

Outfitters/Guides usually will charge around $300/day for a 1 x 1 turkey hunt.  I would value the 2 day hunt at $600 value.  I have donated a couple of 2 day hunts myself for charitable causes - good luck.

Buy a hunt from bearpaw for the youth weekend.  Lots of birds and well worth the money.....the operation is top notch.

@bearpaw

Before you do that, make sure the auction your school holds will have the people in the crowd that will do the auction right on this. Wouldn't want to see it sell for $100 because nobody was interested.
I say this because, as it turns out, there's not a lot of interest in a beer homebrewing class at a fundraiser auction for a private Christian school.
Ask me, I know.

I tend to agree with jackelope, you may not do that well trying to auction a hunt, if you buy a hunt you might lose money, it often costs me more to conduct a hunt than what a charity gets for the hunt I have donated. I would look for other items that are more in line with the interests of the people you are auctioning items to.  :twocents:
