Question
« on: October 22, 2016, 07:56:17 PM »
I shot at real nice Blacktail and missed.  He looked at me and took off into the woods.  I waited a half hour and slowly and quietly went to where he was when I shot.  No blood I'm pretty sure I missed.  I sat on the spot and went into the woods to find him and couldn't track him down.  Should I return to that spot and see if he comes back or should I find a new spot.  He was a real nice 2x3. Will he return to that area?

No telling.  He might have been cruising for does and a mile or more from his home territory.  Then again, he might live up on the hill just above where you saw him.  It's probably worth going back.  He was there for a reason.  He or some other buck might find reason to be there again.

If what you are asking is "Will being shot at scare the deer out of the area?"
I don't think it will.  There have been many folks that have missed a deer and have gotten him later the same season, even the same day, from the same stand.  If he is living in that area, he'll be back.
