Entiat unit 2006.
We were hunting in the Entiat area on opening morning. Pulled up to our morning hunt and parked about 1.5 hours before day light. My daughter and i walked out to this ridge and got settled before first light. my wife and son were heading the opposite direction to watch another canyon. As light started to come apon us i spotted a dark figure moving in the darkness before us. Watching it with my binos as it grazed its way up the hill in front us us. As soon as it was light enough to see it was a legal buck i told my daughter to shoot it, but she could not find it in the scope. I turned the power down on the scope and got her calm enough to take a shot. The deer was about 60 yards in front of us broadside. She shot and missed. The deer looked around and moved up the hill more, she shot again, and nothing, it kept feeding only 70 yards in front of us. My son and wife come around the corner, wave them down, my son crotches down and sneaks up to us while my squats down for a pee.
It took rashell a (what seamed like) few minutes to get settled for another shot, buck fever was through out her whole body. I pointed out the deer to my son who made his way back to my wife after she was done peeing. He showed her the deer and they watched as rashell took aim for a third time. She pulled the trigger and the deer just stood there again. Rashell said "tell mom to shoot it", so Tanya put her sight on it and stood there, we asked her what she was waiting for and she said "It's not broadside"

(it was quartered away) I said "shoot the dam deer before it takes off and she said "not until its a good shot"

. The deer finally turned just right (for her) and she shot.
It jumped and took of running up the hill. I thought she missed until it dropped and did the "Death Roll" on the top of the hill. When we got to the top of the hill where it went down it was no where to be found. We looked around for a few minutes and my son saw it laying in a bush about 30 yards from where it fell.
Here is the results. One shot through both lungs
